Description
Make better wine! Yes, that’s one likely outcome of this ½ day classroom/hands-on combo event. Presentations include best practices in evaluating and purchasing barrels, storage, and maintenance; a comparison of fermentation in different vessels; an exploration of wood choices, and an introduction to what’s new in the world of barrel management. In addition to hearing from industry and academic experts, we’ll get hands-on in the WSU Wine Science Center barrel room.
Content and instruction is presented by Dr. Tom Collins, Assistant Professor, Viticulture & Enology Program, Washington State University.
